After countless speculative renders, the upcoming Suzuki GSX 250R (Suzuki Gixxer 250) has finally shown itself without any camouflage. As expected, the Suzuki Gixxer 250’s styling has trickled down from the bigger GSX R1000, which means that the quarter litre Suzuki sports a similarly styled full fairing, the trademark, tapering headlamp, and a meaty exhaust canister. Other highlights of the Gixxer 250 include a fully digital instrument cluster and a split seat.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is expected to be powered by the 248 cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder mill that does duty on the Inazuma. In the naked street-fighter, this engine makes 24 hp at 8,500 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. However, the output could be tweaked in case of the Gixxer 250, although there’s no confirmation on the same. Alongside the GSX-R250, there could be friendlier “GSX 250F” variant as well, with slivers of touring intent.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is anticipated to make its global premiere at either the EICMA 2016 in Milan in November 2016, or at the INTERMOT in Cologne in October 2016. While the Gixxer 250 is expected to be launched in Europe and in selected South East Asian countries by the end of this year itself, an Indian launch is yet to be confirmed. In case Suzuki chooses to get it to India, it won’t be happening before 2017.
