Suzuki Gixxer SF is now available with fuel injection is select cities across India. The fuel injected model is currently only available in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Kochi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai and has been priced at INR 1,03,785 (on-road Delhi). The fuel injected version will be only available in Metallic Triton Blue (Special MotoGP Edition).
The fuel injected Gixxer SF Fi was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Gixxer SF’s Fuel Injection Technology uses six sensors to calculate the optimum amount of fuel to be injected. The aim is to provide better combustion efficiency for improved fuel efficiency and accurate throttle response at all rpm. Apart from the fuel injection, this variant also features a clear LED tail lamp and rear disc brake. The kick-started has been eliminated and the Fi version will only have electric starter system.
Despite the addition of fuel injection, the 154.9 cc single cylinder SOHC engine continues to deliver 14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm which is identical to the carburetor version. The Fi engine complies with BS-IV norms. The motorcycle continues to use a 5-speed gearbox.
