Tata Motors January Sales Figure Stands at 61,660 units

Tata Motors, India’s automaker biggie, sold as many as 61,660 (sixty thousand six hundred and sixty) commercial and passenger vehicles in the month of January 2013. The passenger vehicle and commercial vehicles domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2013 stood at 57,780 nos.

Cumulative sales figure, which includes sales in export markets, for the company for the fiscal were 675,410 nos.

Commercial Vehicles

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in January 2013 in the domestic market were 42,571 nos. LCV sales were 33,849 nos., while M&HCV sales stood at 8,722 nos.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 432,941 nos. Cumulative LCV sales were 315,041 nos., while M&HCV sales stood at 117,900 nos.

In January, Tata Motors became the first company in India to offer an unbeatable warranty of 4 years, on its entire range of heavy trucks with 25 tonnes and higher GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight).

Passenger Vehicles

Sales of passenger vehicles for January 2013 were at 15,209 nos. During the month, Tata Motors launched its premium hatchback, the all new Tata Vista D90, an advanced & dynamic car, powered by a specially tuned 90 PS Quadrajet diesel engine with hi-tech feature packed offering along with all new classy interiors for personalised comfort. It joins the recently introduced Tata Manza Club Class and Tata Safari Storme which have met with a great response and are doing pretty well in their respective segments. Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in January 2013 were 11,192 nos. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 4,017 nos.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 199,186 nos. Cumulative sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range were at 158,020 nos. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range were 41,166 nos.

During January, Tata Motors also introduced state-of-the-art new-look company-owned showrooms in Mumbai (Prabhadevi) and New Delhi (South Extension), with best-in-class services for superior customer experience. This format will be rolled out across the country in the coming months.

Exports

The company’s sales from exports are 3,880 vehicles in January 2013. Cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal were 43,283 nos.
