HEXA! The upcoming SUV from Tata Motors is all over social media as the company recently conducted its media drive ahead of its launch early next year. While our detailed review on the Hexa is just hours away from going live, we get you a few details on the customized version of the model, known as the Hexa Tuff.

Tata Motors had showcased the Tuff Avatar of the Hexa during the 2016 Auto Expo. Now, in its production form, the Hexa stands to be a bit different from the model showcased at the biennial event. While the company hasn’t revealed the feature wise break-up of the custom edition of the SUV, there are quite a few additions over the standard Hexa.
Visually, the Hexa Tuff receives numerous chrome bits on the exterior such as a chrome garnish underlining the bootlid, chrome garnish for the headlamp, chrome door handles, chrome ORVM caps and a chrome garnish for the tail lamps. The model also receives additional plastic cladding around the body, plastic cladding on either side of the front as well as the rear bumper, side steps, roof box, bicycle mounts and a tyre rack.

Moving on to the interiors, the Tata Hexa Tuff comes equipped with features including a Heads-Up Display (HUD), wireless charging for iPhone and a sun-roof. The engine of the Hexa Tuff remains unchanged and hence powering it will be the same 2.2-litr Varicor diesel engine that produces 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 6 speed manual transmission as well as a 6 speed automatic transmission. Also on offer will be four driving modes – Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. Prices for the Hexa will be announced during its launch in the month of January 2017. Stay tuned!
