Suzuki Jimny 4Sport Revealed In Brazil

Suzuki has launched the hardcore off-road version of the popular SUV Jimny for the Latin American Market. Suzuki has named it Jimny Sierra 4-Sport and the sales are limited to only 100 units. Although it remains the same mechanically, Suzuki has made a lot of changes to its cosmetics making the SUV more rugged.

The changes include the addition of a snorkel which has improved its water wading capacity to 600mm. Making it more convenient off-road, it has a matte black rock slider for protection against dents and doubles up as a side-step. Other features are a black roof with a carrier and four tow hooks – two at the front and two at the rear. With new skid plates, the approach angle of 4Sport has been reduced from 37 degrees to 31 degrees, while the departure angle has decreased from 49 degrees to 40 degrees. It also comes equipped with new Pirelli MTR off-road tires. Other design elements of the Jimny Sierra 4-Sport include new side mouldings, black 4Sport badging on the doors, blue graphics on the hood, and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of this Jimny gets a cosmetic makeover with blue highlights surrounding the AC vents and gear-shifter.  Adding on to the blue theme, the new seats of this Jimny have blue stitching and accents along with the 4Sport emboss on the front seats. A prominent 4Sport badge on the passenger side dashboard can also be seen.

Although the Jimny Sierra 4-Sport will not be making its way to India, speculations suggest that the company has planned to launch the five-door version of the Jimny in India. The five-door Jimny was recently seen testing in Europe and is said to be revealed next year. The current iteration of the Jimny comes with Suzuki’s K15B engine, a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder unit which delivers 105 hp of power and 138 nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual as standard and a 4-speed automatic as an option. The Indian version of Jimny is expected to be powered by the K15C 1.5-liter mild-hybrid unit with 101 hp and 136 nm of torque. With the option of a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
