Suzuki Motorcycles India Limited had unveiled the Gixxer 155cc motorcycle and the Let’s Scooter in January this year. The Suzuki Gixxer will be launched in India soon, and the prices for this 155cc motorcycle have already surfaced on the cyberspace.
Powering the Suzuki Gixxer is a 155cc single cylinder, SOHC engine with air cooling and a Carburettor for fuel intake. The bike employs monoshock suspension at the rear. Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes provide the stopping power to the vehicle. Tyre specifications are rated at 100/80/17 at the front and 140/60/17 at a rear.
The 155cc block in the Suzuki Gixxer churns out 14.8 PS at 8000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm.This mill has been equipped with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology. The company claims the engine technology helps acheive top-class fuel efficiency without compromising power and performance. The engine, having allegedly benefited from Suzuki’s experience in racing, features technology which benefits from the reduction of all kinds of mechanical losses, efficient design of every component and attention to detail in our manufacturing process. This helps deliver both economy and performance.
The Gixxer’s engine and chassis was apparently developed by the engineers who designed the legendary GSX-R series. The frame for the bike has been kept light and stiff to aid handling. The engine has been developed from the scratch to offer significant advantages over competition. It is claimed to deliver “exceptional running performance with a broad low-end torque and dynamic mid-range power for strong acceleration.”
The Gixxer has been priced at INR 84,344 on-road Mumbai, making it INR 3000 more expensive than its sibling- GS150R.
