Its no secret that Tata Motors has been testing the Safari Storme facelift. The Safari Storme was launched in the year 2012 and couldn’t really make its mark in the SUV segment. The facelifted Tata Safari Storme has been spied with a camoflauged front bumper and grille.

The latest image seen here shows the SUV with minimal camoflauge, suggesting towards a launch around the corner. It may be noted that Mahindra will also be launching the facelifted Scorpio around the festive season. The facelifted Storme may include some interior changes such as a front facing third row.

Tata launched the refreshed Aria with a 150 PS mill. Tata may plonk this mill in the Safari Storme facelift too. The current Safari Storme produces 140 PS of max power.

In a bid to increase sales, Tata also launched the Explorer edition of the Safari Storme. At the Auto Expo 2014, Tata Motors showcased the Tata Safari Storme Ladakh Edition.  (Click here to read our earlier report on the same)

It is too late for TATA and now very difficult to regain lost ground. After JLR acquisition I expected TATA to come up with better products but it took them so long. Just now they have come up with ZEST and BOLT is around the corner. Hope both these are better standard vehicles. A lot more needed to be done by TATA, the entire product line needs to be replaced.

Tinkering with the existing model will be a waste of money and effort. It is too tall a vehicle , they need to chop the height so that it has a better road balance and presence . The interior need to be revamped completely. Definitely the dashboard. They may also have to take a few lessons from the likes of Volks Wagon as far as fitting the nuts and bolts in the inside is concerned. If they could tune the engine above the 150PS and not limit it to 150 , there are chances for the sales to go up.
TATA need to immediately revamp their After Sales Service. Old timers in the dealership should be given a VRS or redeployed , simply because one cant teach an old dog new tricks in after sales service.
