Spykar cars coming to India in near future

It has emerged that Dutch supercar maker Spyker has decided to enter our fast developing car market in near future. It may be noted Spykar is the same ex- Formula 1 team owner whose F1 team was bought by Vijay Mallya and rebranded as Sahara Force India. Spykar cars will be sold in India by a New Delhi based group that will also take care of the after sales services. Spyker will soon seen making an official announcement about this tie up with the New Delhi based group.

The revelation happened at the Geneva Motor Show, where the supercar maker unveiled its new B6 Venator concept. The boffins at Spykar also said that India is an important future-market for the carmaker.

While the carmaker is yet to make any sort of official announcement regarding its product portfolio for India, it is being expected that the C8 Aileron is the first Spykar car that might come to us. Powering this car is a V8 engine that has a max power of 400 PS and a peak torque of 480 Nm. The car has a top whack of 300 kmph. Another Spykar that might come to us is the production spec B6 Venator, which is powered by a transverse-mounted V6 motor with more than 380 PS of power.

The B6 Venator will go into production earlier next year and India could be among the first countries to get this car.

It is being said that the starting price of Spykar cars will be around INR 2 crores.
