Tata’s idea behind that Nano was to introduce a cheap vehicle which would attract the common man. However, we all know where that strategy ended. So what does Tata do? Well, it adds a slew of cosmetic upgrades and funky graphics to attract the younger audience and the latest upcoming model, the Tata Nano Twist Active is just the perfect example of that.

Tata Nano Twist Active was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Dozens of spy pictures of the Nano Twist Active surfaced over the internet. The latest images have come from a Carwale reader who spotted the Tata Nano Twist Active in Maharashtra. What’s special about the Nano Twist Active is that it would be offered with an automatic gearbox and it will sport a functional bootlid. Rear seats could be folded down, allowing for more luggage area.
On the outside, the new Tata Nano Active Twist will get redesigned smoked headlight clusters, front and rear bumper and new bonnet trim. On the inside, the car would feature an Electric Power Assisted Steering or EPAS, a new instrument binnacle, beige upholstery and higher quality of plastics.
What’s also interesting to note is that Tata was developing a new, more powerful engine for the Nano and there is a possibility that the new Nano Active Twist might just get one.
Tata is all geared up to transform Nano into a more premium product and doing every bit, that it can, to shed away the “cheap car” image. We hope that does happen because we believe, because of its compact size, Nano will be just an ideal vehicle in city with ever increasing traffic.
