Regulars here would remember that we reported in detail when the first set of spy pics of the upcoming next generation Mini surfaced on the cyber space. Now, we have a pic of the dashboard of the new car.

As per the Source, the dashboard seen here is of the base model and is put together using lower quality materials.

It is being said that the bezel located at the centre console will play home to mood lights. These lights will come alive on turning on the ignition. The centrally located speedometer on the current car has been replaced by a traditional setup that is located behind the steering wheel. The car gets a small tachometer unit that is attached to the speedometer. The repositioning of the speedo to the conventional position is owing to the customer feedback that BMW Group collected for Mini cars.

The production spec car will come with a different three spoke steering wheel. We wish that the steering on the new Mini comes across as more communicative than the current car’s.

The next gen Mini car will be unveiled in the second half of 2013. Engine options will get a revision with the addition of a new 1.5 litres three-cylinder engine with 122hp of power.
