We know that Toyota has been working away on an all-new Innova for a while now. Now, the upcoming Toyota MPV has been caught on video. The test mule is seen wearing its usual camouflage, as it seems that the Japanese carmaker is still not done the road trials of the new MPV.

The all-new Toyota Innova will feature certain cosmetic tweaks on the outside and in. The new-gen MPV will get a redesigned front and rear bumper, new front grille, headlights, taillights, and a fresh design for the alloy wheels. As you can see in the video below, it seems like Toyota has worked on the dimensions of the new-gen Innova, ever so slightly. The 2016 Toyota Innova looks longer than the outgoing model, so this will likely pay dividends when it comes to the new model’s cabin space.

Mechanically, the new-gen Innova will get some significant improvements. Under the bonnet, the outgoing 2.5-litre diesel motor will be replaced by an all-new GD series 2.4-litre oil burner. This four cylinder mill is capable of dishing out up to 160 PS of power and 400 Nm of twist. This new engine will come paired to new 6-speed manual and automatic transmission systems.

Toyota will be pitching the new-gen avatar of the Innova as a more luxurious product than the previous model. Toyota will also be cramming it more safety features; possibly up to 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, VSM, ESC, and Hill-Start Assist. With the addition of new features, Toyota India will be raising the price tag of the new Innova when it hits showrooms sometime in 2016.
