Chevrolet launched the 2016 edition of the Cruze sedan prior to the Auto Expo held this year. The bi-annual event saw a number of products from the company’s portfolio which are due to be introduced in the country in the coming months. One such model, the Beat Activ has now been spied testing in India.
Spy images that have surfaced on the web suggest that the a test-mule of the upcoming Chevrolet Beat Activ was spotted testing in Bengaluru. The test mule had body cladding on the front and rear end of the vehicle. The American automobile manufacturer had showcased the Beat Activ during the Auto Expo held in February.
For the front fascia, the dual port grille can be seen although the black coloured body cladding tries its best to hide the same. The front bumper will receive a refreshed design while the roof will benefit from roof rails. On either side, the model will receive black body mouldings although it cannot be seen on the test mule, indicating that the tests are currently in its initial stages.
Coming to the posterior of the vehicle, the cladding receives extra padding in order to keep the design of the rear concealed. The pillar mounted door handles on rear doors have been retained as it is a unique factor for the Beat. The design of the bumper also gives away a hint that the Beat Activ will receive faux skid plates on the rear as well as the front.
Powering the Beat Activ will likely be the conventional mills which include a 1.2 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine and a 1.0 litre 3 cylinder diesel engine. While the former produces a power output of 77 bhp and a peak torque of 106.5 Nm while the latter produces 56 bhp of power and 142.5 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
