Audi India recently launched the 2016 A4 in the country with a price tag of Rs. 38.10 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Now, barely 2 months after the launch of the 2016 A4 petrol, the company has started testing the diesel variant of the sedan. Spy images reveal an undisguised test-mule of the 2016 A4 TDI during a public road test.

Currently powering the 2016 Audi A4 is the 1.4-litre TFSI petrol motor that produces a power output of 150 hp while the peak torque is rated at 250 Nm. This engine comes mated to a seven speed dual-clutch S-Tronic transmission. The aforementioned powertrain enables the 2016 A4 petrol to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.5 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 210 kmph.
The test mule though, as seen in the spy images, sports the 35 TDi badge suggesting that the model will be propelled by a 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel engine that will produce 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. This engine too, will send power to the wheels via the seven speed S-Tronic gearbox. Expect the fuel efficiency of the 2016 A4 diesel to be higher than that of its predecessor as the MLB Evo platform based model sheds as much as 95 kgs.

A few features that would be seen on the 2016 Audi A4 TDI includes LED headlamps, DRLs and tail lamps, MMI infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, virtual cockpit, wireless charging, sunroof, four driving modes, etc.
