The new 2014 Yamaha FZ sports many updated that work together to bestow the fast ageing model with a dose of freshness that is likely to enable it to fend off the heat from upcoming rivals like the Suzuki Gixxer 155.

The Yamaha FZ-S facelift looks much like the Yamaha FZ Concept we saw back at the Auto Expo 2014 (image included for reference)

The bike gets a new end can, a set of new air scoops near the fuel tank, a new tail light and a new rear registration plate bracket that looks far sportier than one on the current model. Also, the FZ’s single seat setup makes way for a twin split seats arrangement and along with all these changes, the bike also gets clear lens indicators and a new centre console. Interestingly, this centre console looks somewhat like the one on the new Honda CB Trigger.

The new 2014 Yamaha FZ facelift is likely to be powered by a more powerful engine. It is being said that this engine could be a re-bored version of the current motor, with its cubic-capacity bumped up to 170cc! The revamped FZ could enjoy a max power of around 16PS.

We are eagerly waiting for the launch of the new Yamaha FZ series. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more images and details of the upcoming 2014 Yamaha FZ V2.0 facelift.
