While Renault India has not yet announced the launch date or the city-wise prices for its upcoming hatchback, the Kwid, reports from automotive portal OnCars suggests that select dealers have already commenced the bookings process, with a purported token amount of INR 25,000. The report also suggests that Renault will launch the new Kwid in the month of September with ex-showroom between INR 3-4 lakh. We are still not sure about the authenticity of the reports but you can contact your local Renault dealership for more bookings details.
Renault Kwid was earlier previewed in new TVC with Bollywood heartthrob and the car maker’s brand ambassador in India, Ranbir Kapoor.

For those who may have missed the details about this upcoming hatchback in our earlier reports, the new Kwid will be based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s modular CMF-A platform, and will be manufactured in India. High localization content of 98% would contribute to aggressive pricing structure. The upcoming Kwid will be equipped with loads of segment first features on the inside, some of which are the like of premium touchscreen Media-Nav multimedia/navigation system with a seven-inch display and a fully digital instrument console.

Mechanical data also deserves a special mention. The Kwid hatchback will receive SUV styling and will draw powered from a 800cc, three-cylinder DOHC engine reportedly rated with 57 bhp which will place this new offering from Renault as the most powerful car in its class. Earlier reports suggested that the Kwid will also get an optional AMT transmission The media drives for the new Renault Kwid are scheduled in the second week of September so stay tuned for a detailed review from us.
