Upcoming TVS Apache 200 Spied Upclose (4)

Although there is no official word from TVS, folks at Car Blog India say that the new Apache 200, which is due for a launch in 2016, could hit the showrooms by as soon as January. The Apache 200, they  say will be launched in India on January 20 and will later be showcased at the 2016 Auto expo in February alongside the refreshed RTR 180.

The Apache 200 has been spied testing earlier on numerous occasions and with the rumours of the launch surfacing, there is a good possibility that the motorcycle may have already hit the production line. Powering the Apache will be a new 200 cc single cylinder engine which, according to the spy images, could come with liquid cooling. Performance figures are yet unknown but we expect the new Apache to deliver a power output of around 22 hp.

Upcoming TVS Apache 200 Spied Upclose - Instrument Cluster

Other features of the upcoming motorcycle from TVS include a digital instrument cluster, petal disc brake setup and the conventional telescopic suspension upfront unlike an upside down unit on the Draken concept. The underbelly exhaust on the Draken is replaced with an conventional unit, mounted to the right side on the Apache 200. Two test mules were also spotted with different handle bar styles although we do not know which one made it to the production model.

Expect the Apache 200 to retail with a price tag of Rs. 1-1.3 lakhs and once launched, it would take on the likes of the KTM Duke 200, the Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 and the refreshed Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS.
