Rumour Mill: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X and 500X India Launch On February 22

If a new report is to be believed, Royal Enfield plans to launch the Thunderbird 350X and 500X in India on February 22. Both the models were first spotted at a company warehouse while a spy video of it’s test mules surfaced later on the web, hinting at an impending launch.

The previous spy images of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X and 500X revealed that the models receive a new dual tone paint job where the tank of the motorcycles now come in colours such as Red, White, Blue and Yellow, something similar to that of the Classic 350 Redditch Edition. A few other changes come in the form of a flatter handlebar, single piece seat, alloy wheels and blacked out elements that replace the chrome finished elements. Also on offer is a projector headlamp with LED DRL, LED tail light and disc brakes at the front and back. The pillion backrest seems to be missing on the model hinting that it could be offered as an accessory.

Engine specifications will remain unchanged and hence both, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X as well as the Royal Enfield 500X will continue to source power from the 346cc engine and 499cc engine respectively. The former is capable of producing 19.8 bhp and 28 Nm of torque while the latter produces 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a five speed unit. Details such as the prices and availability will be revealed during the launch. Stay tuned for updates.
