If reports are to be believed, DSK-Benelli, the Indian arm of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer is preparing to launch the Leoncino Scrambler soon. Speaking to another publication, Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels, confirmed that the model will be launched in November this year. He further added that the current fiscal will witness two more launches.
It is believed that the India-spec Leoncino will be an on-road spec model that will come equipped with ABS as a standard feature. The middle-weight scrambler could be offered as an off-road spec model if Benelli gets a significant demand for the same.
Unveiled at the 2015 EICMA Motor Show held in Milan, the Benelli Leoncino is based on an all new steel Trellis frame. A few other highlights of the Leoncino Scrambler include a circular headlamp with an LED DRL, LED tail lamp, LED turn indicators, USD telescopic forks up-front and a digital instrument cluster.
Propelling the Benelli Leoncino Scrambler is a 499cc twin cylinder liquid cooled engine. This motor is capable of producing a power output of 47 PS at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 45 Nm at 4500 rpm. This engine comes paired to a six speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheel.
