On 18th October 2022, Rolls-Royce unveiled the new Spectre which is set to launch in the year 2023. It is the brand’s first fully electric car without compromising any of the Rolls-Royce design and performance. The car is made of aluminium and almost weighs three tonnes. The Spectre will have a driving range of 520km on the WLTP cycle. The electric powertrain produces 585hp and 900Nm, with an all-wheel drive and can go from 0 to 100kph in 4.5sec.
The Spectre has a very familiar Rolls-Royce shape with a long bonnet, clean profile and a fastback tail. with a length of 5.45 meters and 2 meters in width, the spectre is significantly bigger than the four-door Mercedes EQS. The Spectre also wears the broadest-ever grille fitted to a Rolls-Royce with 22 LEDs for soft lighting in the dark. It has a coefficient of 0.25 making it the most aero-dynamic Rolls-Royce ever. At the back, the fastback tail, joined with the seamless glasshouse, helps with aerodynamic efficiency. The fastback rooftop, which reaches out from the A-pillar to the luggage compartment is the biggest single-body board ever fitted on a Rolls-Royce. The spectre rides on aero-optimized 23-inch wheels – the biggest ever fitted to a two-door Rolls Royce car.
The interiors of the car are very similar to the current Ghost. The starlight liner, so far only offered on the roof, is currently additionally included in the door pads. The doors can be specced with wood framing as an option. The dashboard panel on the passenger side is illuminated with the ‘Spectre’ nameplate, surrounded by a cluster of over 5,500 star-like illuminations. Rolls Royce had so far been using a BWM-derived infotainment software but now it gets a new software platform called ‘The Spirit.
