Jeep Avenger 4×4 EV Breaks Cover

Jeep’s first-ever BEV (battery electric vehicle) has been unveiled at the Paris Motor Show called the Avenger. Bookings for the European market have opened and deliveries are expected to begin next year in 2023. The Avenger will be available in ICE versions as well as an EV guise & both versions are to come equipped with an FWD layout as standard.

The Jeep Avenger, a compact SUV measuring just 4.1 meters in length looks muscular and handsome with its high bonnet and LED DRLs sitting at the top of the headlamps that are set on either side of the signature Jeep seven-slat grille. With chunky wheel arches housing the beautifully designed diamond-cut alloy wheels that are the same for the ICE and electric versions. All four of these wheels will get power sent to them in the Concept 4×4 variant of the Electric SUV. Jeep had earlier confirmed that all of its SUVs & electric SUVs will have an AWD version.

In its FWD model, the Jeep Avenger comes powered by a 154hp, 260Nm motor paired with a 54kWh battery pack that has clocked a range of 400kms in the WLTP cycle. The 4×4 Concept version of the electric Avenger will come with a dual-motor setup with a raised ground clearance of more than 200mm resulting in an improved approach angle of 21 degrees, departure angle of 34 degrees, and break-over angle of 20 degrees. The Concept sports off-road centric additions such as thicker cladding, even wider fenders & track, along with larger brawny, exposed tires. The 4×4 Concept has external tow hooks and raised bumpers providing additional protection which come with built-in flood lights for greater visibility in the dark.

The Concept model also comprises a new lightweight roof cargo rack with a special belt system to hold the luggage keeping it tied down. Scratch-proofing along the entire length of the roof has been added too. The whole package is completed by an anti-reflective hood sticker and anti-scratch grille treatment for additional protection when driving off-road. This new arrival of the Avenger’s off-road specific version will be added to Jeep’s range of 4xe models coming in the future. It remains to be seen if the Jeep brings the Avenger to India in the future.
