The new Renault Kwid 1.0 Litre is all set for an August 22 launch. Before that, Renault India has released the specifications and feature list of the new Kwid derivative. As the suffix suggests, the latest Kwid will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to produce a maximum power output of 68 PS @5500 RPM and maximum torque of 91Nm @ 4250 RPM. In comparison, the 0.8-litre engine produces 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque. As for fuel efficiency, the new 1.0-litre engine is claimed to deliver an ARAI-certified 23.01 km/l, as compared to 25.17 km/l delivered by the 0.8-litre engine.

As for equipment, the 1.0 Litre will only be available with the top-end RXT grade, which means that features like air-conditioning, front power windows, electric power steering, the 7-inch touchscreen equipped MediaNAV infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster with gear shift indicator will come as standard. On the outside, the 1.0 Litre variant adds new two-tone gloss grey ORVMs and decals on the doors. Inside, there’s a new Champion Red upholstery and chrome knobs for the HVAC controls.

As for safety, the Kwid 1.0 Litre comes with front fog lamps, remote keyless entry with central locking, and an engine immobiliser as standard, while a driver airbag and Pro-Sense front seat belts are optional features. Dimensions, tire and wheel sizes of the 1.0 Litre variant stay similar to the variant with the 0.8-litre engine. The new Kwid 1.0 Litre will be available in five colour options – Fiery Red, Outback Bronze, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White and Planet Grey.
