The Renault Kwid is available with a bunch of accessories on launch. With a bit of mix and match, the Kwid can be glamoured up to look more attractive than stock, depending on your taste of course. This one-off ‘Kwid Sports’, spotted at a dealer wears INR 48,000 worth of accessories, and showcases the possibilities of sprucing up the micro car.
The gloss white paint job is contrasted with matte black sections that include the roof, A- and C-pillars. The slats on the grille have been whitened, while the ‘chains’ on them have been licked in chrome. Other embellishments on the exteriors come in the form of cute three-lug alloy wheels and body graphics that run diagonally across the sides. Inside, there are matte silver finished accents on the dashboard and door trims.
The Renault Kwid is based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s modular CMF-A platform, and is manufactured in and exported from India. Power comes from a 799 cc, three-cylinder DOHC engine outputting 54 bhp and 72 Nm, making the Kwid the most powerful car in its class. Fuel efficiency, at 25.17 kmpl, is class leading. Prices start at INR 256,968 rupees for the base model and INR 353,131 rupees for the top-of-line RXT trim.
