Renault Duster Petrol CVT Launch Reportedly Scheduled For May 2017

Renault India recently launched a new variant of the Kwid hatchback, the Kwid Climber. Now, the French automobile manufacturer is preparing for another launch. This time, the company will add another variant to the Duster compact SUV line-up.

Renault will launch the Duster with a petrol engine, mated to an automatic transmission soon. This model, unlike the diesel variant which is paired to a six speed AMT gearbox, will come mated to a CVT gearbox. This new transmission will come mated to the 1.6-litre four cylinder engine that produces 104 PS and 142 Nm of torque that is currently available only with a five speed manual transmission.

Expect the Renault Duster Petrol CVT to be available only in the RXE and RXL trims. Once launched, the Duster petrol CVT will rival the likes of the Honda BR-V and the Hyundai Creta, both models which currently offer a petrol automatic variant. Stay tuned for more updates.
