Renault Duster 4×4 India launch in October; Details Here

The Renault Duster 4×4 has been spotted testing in India for quite a number of times. In March last year, a test mule sporting the 4WD badge was spotted in Trivandrum with Kerala temporary registration number. (CLICK HERE to read this story) Now, after more than year’s time, Renault is finally prepping itself to launch the Duster 4×4 in the Indian market in the festive month of October, as per a report.

The Duster has been the highest selling product in the French car maker’s Indian line up. With a festive season launch, the 4×4 variant will also bring in good sales numbers for the company.

Internationally, the diesel powered Renault Duster 4×4 variant is on sale with a K9K 1.5-liter four cylinder 8-valve oil burner which churns out a max power of 107 hp and peak torque of 240 Nm. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.6 liter four cylinder engine that develops a max power of 105 hp and peak torque of 148 Nm. Both these engines come connected to a six speed manual gearbox. For the Indian market though, Renault is likely to offer the 4×4 with the diesel engine only.

The 4X4 system that the Renault Duster features is a Nissan drivetrain component manufactured in Romania. Visually, save for the 4WD badges and stickers, there is nothing to tell apart a 4wd variant from its 2wd model. For the Indian market though, Renault may provide body cladding, a more aggressive and rugged looking front and differently upholstered interiors to differentiate it from the 2WD model.
