Last week we reported that Porsche has imported a handful of Macan SUV units in India. Now, a Carwale reader has managed to snap one white Macan S diesel from the lot on the streets of Navi Mumbai. Interestingly, the car seen here sports a regular white number plate.
The Porsche Macan is built on the same platform as the Audi Q5. Porsche India will sell the car here in two versions- Macan Turbo and Macan S Diesel. Powering the Turbo is a 3.6-litre bi-turbo petrol mill that churns out a whopping 400 PS of max power. As per Porsche’s claims, the Turbo hits 100 kmph from standstill in a scant 4.5 seconds.
The oil burner S Diesel version will bring the major chunk of sales for the Stuttgart based car maker. Under the hood of the S diesel sits a 3.0 litre V6 diesel motor which also performs the duty in the Cayenne and the Panamera. This motor churns out 258 PS of max power which catapults the baby SUV to the ton in 6.3 seconds and keeps accelerating to its top speed of 230 kmph.
Both the Macan models in India will come with all wheel drive and Porsche’s 7-speed PDK transmission as standard.
Equipment on the Macan includes :
- Hill descent control
- Torque vectoring
- Active suspension
- Off-road package that lifts its ride height by 40mm
According to reports, the Porsche Macan is expected to be priced above INR 70 lakh. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the Porsche Macan India launch.
