Pagani teases the Zonda R Evolution

Pagani Zonda R Evolution

Italian Supercar manufacturer Pagani Automobili has released a teaser image of its forthcoming Supercar- the Zonda R Evolution with a caption that reads “The Revolution is about to begin”.

Based on the exotic 750 bhp Zonda R Track Special, the Evolution is speculated to dish out an additional 50 horsepower from the 6.0 litre V12 Mercedes Benz AMG power plant inching closer to the 800 bhp mark. Though it’s not only about the hoisted horsepower in the new Zonda R Evolution, the car is also slated to sport better aerodynamics and thanks to a more efficient light weight construction, the Evolution is all set to shed a few more kilos bumping up that killer power to weight ratio of the Zonda R even further. The Zonda R weighs 1070 kgs in dry form rendering a weight to power ratio of just 1.43 kgs per bhp shooting the car to 350 kph.

Expect the Evolution to have a crack and better the 2.7 second 0-100 kph sprint of the Zonda R, and certainly not to forget the 6:47 blistering lap that the Zonda R set around the Nurburgring circuit in 2010 beating the short-lived 6:58 glory of the Ferrari 599XX.

It was reported that the car was showcased to a private audience at the 2013 Mille Miglia held last month and Pagani would be restricting the production number of the new Zonda R Evolution to only 5 cars. Such a private unveiling hints that all 5 of them might already be sold out, or maybe not.

The ‘Ring is all set to see earlier lap times being tumbled very soon.

I don’t think that 2.7 will be cracked, there is always a limit to how fast you accelerate.. Especially if you (like Panagni) stick with single clutch gear box.. Mid and top will definitely be better..
