Official: Datsun Go India Production Starts on February 04, March 2014 launch

Datsun is all geared to take on the big boys of the Indian auto industry. Maruti and Hyundai beware, the low on cost and high on value Datsun Go is excruciatingly close to its production. The small car, which will bring the once defunct Datsun brand to life under the Nissan umbrella will see its production starting on February 4th 2014, according to an official release by Datsun. While Datsun Go India production begins in February, the car will go on sale in March 2014, as stated by another release from the Japanese company earlier.

Datsun is planning to organize a big ceremony for the start of production of the first Datsun Go. Datsun cars will be produced at Nissan’s plant at Oragadam, Chennai. Datsun Go will make its India show debut at Auto Expo 2014, along with the Go+ and a new concept car, the first sketch of which was released by Datsun earlier.

To commemorate the production of the Datsun Go, there will be a big list of high profile dignitaries. Mr. Thiru. P. Thangamani – Honourable Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu will preside over the function along with Mr. Toshiyuki Shiga, Vice Chairman, Nissan Motor Co. Other dignitaries attending the event will include Mr. Vincent Cobee, Corporate Vice President and Head – Datsun Business Unit, Mr. Ashwani Gupta, Programme Director – Datsun Business Unit, Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President – Nissan India Operations and Mr. Toshihiko Sano, Managing Director – RNAIPL (Renault Nissan Automotive Indian Private Limited).

    want to wait for this car Datsun Go.
    what will be the cost.

  2. Datsun will definitely beat the other small hatchbacks. It gives very touch competition to Maruti Alto 800, WragonR and Hyundai Eon.
    Is Datsun comes only in the petrol segment..?
