Nissan is all geared up for the launch of their first compact SUV, the Terrano, in India on 9th of October. The Terrano has already generated enough hype before its launch, and seems all set to give a tough fight to Renault Duster and the Ford EcoSport. Now, as per our sources, Nissan Terrano will command a waiting period of 45 days once it has been launched in the market. It may be noted that the bookings are already underway and can be made for a fully refundable payment of INR 50000. While Nissan India has said that the SUV will be priced below INR 10 lakhs, our sources have told us that the top end diesel variant will have an on road price of above INR 10 lakhs in Pune.
The Terrano will go on sale with two diesel and one petrol engine option. The diesel variants of Terrano get the 1.5-litre K9K oil burner in two states of tune- 85PS and 110PS. The petrol variant of the Terrano is powered by a 1.6 litre naturally aspirated motor which generates a maximum power of 104 PS. While the petrol and the less powerful diesel motor would come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, the 110 PS diesel engine will have a 6 speed manual transmission.
The Terrano will be available in three trim levels- XE, XL and XV.
- The base variant, which will be called the XE, will be powered by the 85PS oil burner and will come equipped with a driver side airbag.
- The XL, which is the next variant, gets more safety features such as ABS, EBD and Brake Assist. This variant can be bought with any of the two oil burners and also with the petrol engine.
- The top of the line XV will come with only the 110PS engine and will be equipped with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, 16-inch alloy wheels, reverse parking sensors, rear AC and leather seats.
Terrano will go on sale in 6 color shades- Pearl White, Blade Silver, Saphire Black, Sterling Grey, Bronze Grey and Fire Red.
