We reported in detail when Nissan India advertised a new special edition variant of its Sunny sedan in the Times of India newspaper.
The special edition of the Nissan Sunny XV comes loaded with features like a new touch screen 2 DIN entertainment system (with DVD, BT, USB & Remote), a dose of chrome on the trunk garnish, leather upholstery, a rear spoiler and reverse parking camera. It may be noted that some of the features available with the Nissan Sunny ‘Special Edition’ are already available with certain variants of the car.
The Nissan Sunny Special Edition has a black dashboard panel, beige upholstery & door pads and silver trim on centre console and door handles.
Addition of features like the touch screen audio system and a reverse parking camera are welcome additions to the car and make Sunny an even better equipped package. We won’t be surprised if Nissan India soon launches some of the features of the ‘Special Edition’ across all variants of the Sunny C segment sedan.
Commenting on the launch of the new special edition of Sunny, Mr. Nitish Tipnis, Director – sales & marketing of Nissan’s national sales company in India – Hover Automotive India – said, “Sunny has been a success in India right from the time of its launch in September 2011 and the car has continued to be a popular choice amongst customers in the mid-sized sedan segment.
The Nissan Sunny Special Edition remains mechanically unchanged and comes with 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engine options. The Sunny sedan will soon get the much publicized XTronic CVT transmission that already been launched in India in the more expensive Renault Scala.
Following is the price list of the Nissan Sunny Special Edition:
Nissan Sunny XV Special Edition Petrol variant : INR 8,60,054/-

It will be interesting to see if the special edition manages to bring in more customers to Nissan India.
