The current generation of Nissan Micra hatchback, which was launched way back in 2010, is ready for getting a midlife facelift. The botox treatment should enable the current Micra to soldier on for a couple of years more.

That the boffins at Nissan have been busy working on giving the Micra a facelift is a known fact. However, no one seemed to know what the updated car would look like. The Nissan Micra facelift has now been spotted completely undisguised.

The Nissan Micra facelift was spotted near a shopping center in Thailand. The car was brought there for shooting the promotional videos.

The front fascia of the updated car sports new headlamps, new grill, new fog lamps and revised bumper. The new front end seems to have been inspired from that of the Nissan Extrem concept which made its debut at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show.

The large air dam along with a wide grille bestows the new car with a hint of sportiness and does away with the ‘dolly car’ appearance of the current Micra. However, the front end styling of the new car might not be to the taste of everyone.

The car remains unchanged when viewed in profile. The only difference that is present is the new design for the set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the car gets a new bumper and a new tail lamp motif. The interiors of the new Micra are being expected to remain largely the same, albeit with few minor improvements.

The updated Micra, in all probability, would continue to be powered by the tried and tested 1.5 litre K9K diesel and the 1.2 litre petrol motor. Transmission options for the car would be the 5-speed manual and CVT Automatic.

There are very good chances of the updated car coming to us.
