We have reported in detail about the new 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. (Click here to read our earlier report). Now according to a fresh report, it has emerged that the new Volkswagen Jetta India launch could happen in early 2015.
The new Volkswagen Jetta receives a Passat-like look on its front fascia with optional bi-xenon headlights and strips LED daytime running lights. At the rear section, the car gets a revised trunk lid with a spoiler along with LED taillights for the GLI and Hybrid versions. According to Volkswagen, the new Jetta has been aerodynamically optimized.
The interior of the car also boasts of minor tweaks. Mid and top-end variants now get chromed treatment for the dash and gauges. The car also gets a new multi-function steering wheel, updated air vent controls and piano black accents.
The new 2015 Volkswagen Jetta comes with the following upgrades :
- New available driver assistance systems: Blind Spot Detection, rear cross-traffic alert, frontal collision warning system, and Park Distance Control
- New 2.0T TDI® Clean Diesel EA288 engine returns a manufacturer-estimated 45 mpg on the highway.
- Efficiency improved across Jetta lineup as a result of improved aerodynamics and a reduction in rolling resistance
- Bi-Xenon headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and Adaptive Front-lighting System are now available on select models
The new Jetta is built on the PQ35 platform (Golf V) and will be powered by the same engines from the outgoing car. But, the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel motor now makes 150 bhp (112 kW) of max power, which is a 10 bhp bump from the earlier 140 bhp.
