The Volkswagen Up! is the latest hatchback to be smitten by the mini-crossover bug. The all new Volkswagen Cross Up! will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month and here is a set of Cross Up! images that the German auto giant has published. The new VW Cross Up! is slated to go on sale across Europe by late summer and here we have a few details of the new car.
The Cross Up! looks very similar to the concept that VW had previewed back at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show and the most prominent change that we could find is the addition of protective black mouldings on the doors.
The Cross Up! comes with body cladding, side sills, silver roof rails and bumper trims that give the small car a hint of ruggedness. The Cross Up! rides on 16-inch alloy wheels that wear 185/50 spec rubber.
On the inside, the car comes with a new seat trim which can be had in red or dark grey, matching dashboard paint shade, leather wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake and chrome trims for the vents, and door sills.
Powering the Cross Up! is the same 74hp three-cylinder petrol motor that is found on the regular Up! The motor is mated to a 5 speed manual ‘box that transmits the power to front wheels.
It isn’t yet known if the car will come with any suspension mods or other mechanical changes.
The new Volkswagen Cross Up! will go on sale in Germany with a starting price of €13,925.
