New Tesla Roadster Does 0-100 Kmph In 1.9 Seconds, Set To Become The Fastest Production Car Ever

American electric car manufacturer Tesla has unveiled the second generation Roadster. The first thing to catch our attention for the Roadster was the 0-100 kmph timing, which, according to Tesla’s claim, is 1.9 seconds. This makes the Tesla Roadster the first production vehicle to sprint to 100 kmph (62 mph) from standstill under the two second mark.

It’s not just the initial run to the tonne that is impressive, as the Tesla Roadster can attain speed of 160 kmph (100 mph) in just 4.2 seconds and will finish the quarter mile in an astonishing 8.9 seconds. Courtesy of the 200 kWh batter, the model is said to touch speeds in excess of 402 kmph (250 mph).

Set to make its public debut in 2020, bookings for the Tesla Roadster have already begun and you can book yours against an amount of $50,000 for the model with a base price of $200,000.
