New Mahindra XUV500 Facelift India Launch On April 18

Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the XUV500 facelift in the country on April 18, 2018. As compared to the outgoing model, the new version of the popular SUV gets a few design updates on the outside, feature updates on the inside and a retuned engine as well.

Powering the new Mahindra XUV500 facelift will be a retuned version of the 2.2-litre diesel motor. This engine, in its new avatar, will produce 155 hp at 3750 rpm and 360 Nm of torque between 1750-2800 rpm. Also on offer will be the 140 hp 2.2-litre petrol engine that was available with the previous generation model. Save for the base variant, all the variants will be available with a six speed automatic transmission as an option. The AWD option will be available exclusively with the W11 variant.

Visual updates to the upcoming XUV500 facelift include a new chrome grille flanked by projector headlamps with LED DRLs on either side, new fog lamp surrounds and a redesigned bumper up-front. The rear profile of the SUV features a tweaked design for the tail-gate, tail lights and bumper. Also on offer are new diamond cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift will come equipped with new tan coloured leather seats and cross stitching as well as soft touch materials which will improve the quality of the cabin. The touchscreen infotainment system of the SUV will also receive an update. Mahindra will introduce a new smartwatch app under the company’s BlueSense technology.

Upon launch, Mahindra will offer the XUV500 facelift in five variants for the diesel trim and a single variant for the petrol trim.
