Mahindra Scorpio vs Facelift Feature Image

MY2017 Mahindra Scorpio Available At Discount Of Upto INR 1.1 Lakh

The Mahindra Scorpio Facelift was recently launched in India but what about the remaining stock of the MY2017 variants of the SUV? To clear the remaining stock of the MY2017 Scorpio, dealers are offering the SUV at discounts of upto INR 1.1 lakh. So, should you buy the MY2017 Mahindra Scorpio?

For a discount of INR 1.1 lakh, you’d compromise on some interior features and performance. Mechanically, the MY2017 Scorpio has the same engine as the new Facelift. However, the performance numbers are slightly lower than the latest version of the SUV. So, while the higher variants of the new Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (S7, S11 and S11 4WD variants) draws 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque from its 2.2-liter diesel engine, the MY2017 version was tuned for 120 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque. The base variants of the new Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (S3, S5, S7 variants) still continue with 120 bhp of power and 280 Nm of peak torque.

You’d also miss some exterior and interior features but the list isn’t too long. On the outside, you wouldn’t get the new front grille with chrome inserts, alloy wheels, new ORVMs with integrated side turn indicators, fog lamps with a chrome bezel, tailgate with chrome applique and an aeroblade wiper, sleek red lens LED tail lamps, redesigned footstep on the rear bumper, clear lens turn indicators and bold chrome highlights in the headlamps, new skid plate, new upper and lower grille mesh design and new look for air extractors.

Inside, you wouldn’t get the faux leather interiors, new reverse parking camera, new 1-touch lane change indicator and new auto window roll-up. But the discount of over INR 1 lakh is indeed a good deal and apart from some compromise on the features, the MY2017 Mahindra Scorpio is quite appealing at those prices.
