Honda Motor Company will launch the new Vezel compact crossover in Japanese market tomorrow.

In words of Honda, the new Vezel “brings together the dynamic qualities of an SUV, the elegance of a coupe and the functionality of a minivan, and will deliver excellent fuel economy”.

The Honda Vezel will go on sale in both petrol and hybrid variant and both these will get a 4wd option.

The hybrid variant will come equipped with Honda’s new SPORT HYBRID i-DCD that combines a 1.5 litre direct injection engine with a high-output electric motor to deliver power that is equivalent to that of a conventional 2.0 litre petrol engine. The Vezel hybrid variant will be the first among all Honda hybrid models to be equipped with Honda’s Real Time All-Wheel-Drive (AWD).

All Vezel variants will also come fitted with features such as an Electric Parking Brake and Automatic Brake Hold, as standard equipment.

The Honda Vezel will go on sale in Europe in 2015 and details on specifications, engine options and branding for the European market are yet to be announced. Also, we won’t really be surprised if Honda Cars India decides to bring the Vezel to us and cash in on the high demand for SUVs/Crossovers in Indian car market.
