We reported in detail when Honda launched the new Vezel compact crossover in Japan recently.

The Vezel is now headed to US market, where it will be positioned below the CR-V in Honda’s crossover portfolio. While it is confirmed that the Vezel will enter US market next year, it isn’t yet for sure if it will be sold under the same nameplate.

Also, it is being said that the US spec Vezel might get a different set of engine options, with a new 1.5-liter turbo making it to under the car’s hood.

We haven’t decided yet what model year it will be, but we have that in our plan,” said Yoshiharu Itai, the crossover’s chief engineer. “We are creating a package so that turbocharging could be installed with this model.

The Honda Vezel is currently sold in Japan with two engine options: a 1.5-liter petrol and a hybrid model with 1.5-liter direct injection petrol engine with an electric motor.

Both the variants of Vezel come equipped with Electric Parking Brake and Automatic Brake Hold as standard. Prices for the new Honda Vezel in Japan start from 1,870,000 Yen
