The current generation Honda City

Honda Cars India is preparing itself to unveil a mid-life facelift for the City sedan. The face lifted version will be introduced early-mid 2017 and will get a whole bunch of interior and exterior enhancements. The current generation Honda City was introduced in the year 2013. Expected to arrive sometime during the next year, the City facelift will take cues from the Honda Greiz sedan (the orange car in pictures here) that is sold by the Japanese automobile manufacturer in China.

Visual updates to the model will include a refreshed front fascia featuring a thick chrome band running across the grille, a larger air-dam, redesigned fog-lamp enclosures and a projector headlamp setup. The only change on either side of the model will be a new design on the alloy wheels that will remain exclusive to the top-end trim level. For the posterior, the model will receive a tweaked bumper and a new tail lamp setup.

Moving on to the interiors, the upcoming City facelift will receive a new infotainment system that will be equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Engine duties are likely to be carried on from the current generation City and will hence be powered by the conventional 1.5-litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Once launched in India, the City facelift will take on the Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and the upcoming Skoda Rapid facelift. The news comes barely a few days after Honda India launched the Accord Hybrid in the country for INR 37 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
