We have been reporting in detail about the upcoming stripped down variant of the Force One SUV. Now, we have come to know that the Force One base variant will be launched sometime next month. Force is also readying a 4×4 variant of the One that will be launched in next 3-4 months. The Force One base variant that will be soon launched has been spotted testing on numerous occasions and here are a couple of spy shots of the upcoming car that we took a couple of months back.

It may be noted that the One is a spacious offering and the new base variant might do well in the small towns/rural market.

The cut price variant of the Force One SUV loses its body colored bumpers / ORVMs, daytime running LEDs, chrome inserts, fog lamps, roof rails and alloys wheels. The body colored bumpers and RVMs have been replaced by low cost black plastic bits. Certain features would be taken down from the interior also to bring down the cost further.

In a bid to make it even more cost effective, Force Motors have replaced the power-plant of the SUV from the Daimler 2.2 liter diesel engine to a “cheaper to manufacture” engine. Rumors suggest that the new motor displaces 2.6 litres and is the same unit that powers the Trax range of people movers. This engine has a max power output of just 60 bhp. However, we expect that the engine would be tuned to produce more power for the One.

We expect the new entry level variant of the vehicle to be priced at around INR 8 lakhs.

Stay tuned, as we bring you more info on the product.
