Following the launch of the new X5 xDrive35i, BMW India has also launched the new X3 xDrive28i, the petrol variant of the X3. Like the X5 xDrive35i, the X3 xDrive28i will also be locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai, and has been priced at INR 54,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The two-litre, turbocharged, four cylinder petrol engine of the new BMW X3 xDrive28i produces an output of 180 kW / 245 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,250 – 4,800 rpm. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels using BMW xDrive, an intelligent all-wheel-drive system .
The car accelerates from 0 -100 km / hr in just 6.5 seconds.

The new BMW X3 xDrive28i has been introduced in India in an exclusive ‘xLine’ design scheme. The new BMW X3 xDrive28i is available in Alpine White (non-metallic) and in the following metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Deep Blue and Melbourne Red.
The range of upholstery combinations include Leather Nevada Beige | Beige, Leather Nevada Saddle Brown | Black, Leather Nevada Mocha / application and stamping | Black and Leather Nevada Black / application and stamping | Black.
The X3 xDrive28i gets BMW EfficientDynamics with features such as Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Electronic Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
Using the Driving Experience Control switch, the driver is able to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions. The BMW ConnectedDrive package in the X3 xDrive28i includes BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS).
The new BMW X3 xDrive28i xLine further comes with iDrive Touch controller with 22.3 cms high-definition colour display, hi-fi loudspeaker system and Rear View camera.
