Ahead of the August 12 debut, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 has started getting attention again. A test bike has been seen with light camouflage, and Bajaj itself shared a picture of it on its official Pulsar Instagram page. The N160 is getting an update soon.
The motorcycle does not look very different at first glance. The fuel tank, side panels and alloy wheels appear familiar. The main change can be seen near the headlamp. The LED daytime running light has a new pattern, giving the bike a fresh look.
What the new N160 could get
A colour LCD display is also expected. The next generation Pulsar 125 has been seen with a similar screen, so the N160 could get it too. Bluetooth functions and turn by turn navigation may also be part of the package.

Engine may get a bigger update
The biggest question is the engine. The current 164.82cc unit has a two valve head and makes 16hp at 8,750rpm and 14.7Nm at 6,750rpm. Reports suggest Bajaj could use a four valve head on the updated bike.
If that happens, the N160 could get a small power increase and better response. Bajaj has not confirmed the final engine figures yet, so those details should be clear at the launch.
Design and equipment
The basic shape of the N160 is likely to stay familiar. The new front lighting is the most visible change from the spy image. New colour choices could also be added.
The current bike uses USD forks on some variants, alloy wheels and disc brakes with ABS. It also has traction control. The updated version is expected to keep this hardware, though Bajaj could make small changes to the equipment.
Price and rivals
The current N160 costs around Rs 1.17 lakh to Rs 1.32 lakh, depending on the variant. The updated bike is expected to cost more if new equipment and engine changes are added.
Its main rivals include the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Hero Xtreme 160R 4V.
