New 2017 Kawasaki Z650 arrives at EICMA : Details, Images and Tech Specs

First revealed at the 2016 Intermot show, the new Kawasaki Z650 arrived at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. A replacement to the ER-6n, the new Z650 benefits from the Sugomi design philosophy. The new Z650 is built around a steel trellis frame and is propelled by the same engine that performs the powering tasks on the Ninja 650. The new Z650 also shares its suspension and brakes with the Ninja 650.

The engine has been re-tuned to conform to the Euro 4 emission norms as the 649cc parallel twin motor now produces 69 hp of power, 3 hp lower than the outgoing model. The engine comes mated to a six speed transmission. The model comes equipped with slipper clutch and Bosch 9.1M ABS.

The new Z650 will be available in colour – Pearl Flat Stardust White / Metallic Spark Black, Candy Lime Green / Metallic Spark Black, Metallic Flat Spark Black / Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Raw Titanium / Metallic Spark Black. The motorcycle gets sleeker body work, apart from the new tank fairing and headlight. Moving on to the instrument cluster, the bike receives an analogue style tachometer and a multi function LCD screen divided by the gear position indicator. The Z650 tips the scales at 187 kg.

While there is no official statement from India Kawasaki Motors, this ER-6n replacement is expected to reach Indian shores sometime next year.
