The 2015 Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA), or the Milan Motorcycle Show, is all set to witness the launch of new 2016 Ducati motorcycles. The Italian marquee continues to tease its upcoming products ahead of the motorcycle show. Back in August 2014, Ducati unveiled its 803cc Scrambler in a unique fashion with a three episode web series of Franco and Elvira. On similar lines, Ducati has teased its new 2016 Ducati Scrambler, though this time they’ve done it through a comic strip – Bart & Betty.

The fun-packed Bart & Betty colour cartoon is nearing its conclusion and features the much-anticipated new Ducati Scrambler. The colour cartoon is accompanied by a teaser image (below) which showcases a silhouette of the upcoming Scrambler with four stars on top. While we cannot pinpoint the reason behind the four stars, we anticipate that the poster design hints towards a 400cc motor that is likely to power the upcoming Scrambler.

Moreover, a teaser video (at the end of the article) released by Ducati gives us a glance of the upcoming product line-up from the Italian two-wheeler maker that would be showcased at the motoring event in Milan. Interestingly, one of the motorcycles teased in the promotional video appears to be the lower displacement 400cc Scrambler. While we could not see much of the motorcycle, the conventional telescopic front suspension, similar to the one that we saw in the recently spied image, hints that the new, lower displacement Scrambler will indeed share the stage with the updated 2016 Ducati motorcycles such as the new Monster and Diavel.

As reported before, the upcoming lower displacement Ducati Scrambler is expected to draw power from a 400cc L- twin cylinder air-cooled Testastretta engine that, in our opinion, should probably put out 40-45 hp of power. The current Ducati Scrambler, with its 803cc 90-degree L-Twin, Desmodromic distribution, air-cooled engine delivers 75 hp of power and 67.79Nm of torque.

The current 803cc Ducati Scrambler comes at a price tag of about Rs 7.9 lakh and we expect the rumoured 400cc variant to be priced at sub Rs 5 lakh mark which will place it against the Harley-Davidson Street 750. On the other hand, the rumoured displacement and expected performance figures is likely to put the upcoming Ducati very close to the Indo-Austrian pocket rocket in terms of performance (though not in terms of price), the KTM Duke 390. Other players who would compete against the upcoming Ducati Scrambler will be the Yamaha MT-03 and the Kawasaki Z300.

The Ducati World Première 2016 will kick off in a matter of hours so stay tuned to find the latest details about this upcoming Scrambler and other stallions from the Italian marque’s stable. Meanwhile, here is the teaser video that showcases the upcoming 2016 Ducati motorcycles scheduled to be unveiled at the EICMA motor show:
