So you had goosebumps seeing the spy pics of the soon-to-be-launched Punto Abarth with 134 horses on tap ? Here is another hot hatch just for drooling. Volkswagen has just unveiled the 2015 Scirocco GTS ahead of it’s world premiere at Auto Shanghai 2015 in China next week. While Volkswagen may not launch this car here, enthusiasts like you and me always drool over such hot hatches.
The 2015 Scirocco GTS version now packs an extra 10 PS compared to its predecessor. It draws power from a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline cranking out 220 PS, akin to the Golf VII GTI. The engine can be paired to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed DSG which lets the car sprint to 100 kmph from a standstill in 6.5 seconds before topping out at 244 km/h (246 km/h with the manual).
Apart from the extra 10 PS, the 2015 Volkswagen Scirocco has been also bestowed with fresh 18-inch Norwich alloy while larger 19-inch Lugano rims will be optionally available. Both the alloys try to hide red brake calipers. Also on offer is a R-Line exterior package bringing R-styled bumpers, custom side sill extensions, roof spoiler and a rear diffuser.Customers can have the model with one of the following exterior paint schemes: Flash Red, Pure White, Oryx White, Urano Grey, Indium Grey and Deep Black.
On the inside, the GTS features a black headliner and sports steering wheel with red seams and black piano lacquer with the GTS logo on the lower spoke. It also comes with a Composition Colour infotainment system, stainless steel pedals, golf ball gear knob and a chrome trim package. At an extra dough, customers can soup up their car with black Vienna leather upholstery, bi-xenon headlights as well as a panoramic tilt sunroof and a new multi-function steering wheel.
