New 2015 Honda Jazz India Launch Soon; CVT with Paddle Shifters will be on offer

Honda India launched the Jazz way back in 2009 but the vehicle failed to set the sales charts on fire for the Japanese car maker. Now, we all know that Honda India is all set to launch the 2015 Jazz soon, but that’s not the big news. The 2015 Jazz will be sold here with a CVT on the petrol powered variant. This can be confirmed from the fact that Honda India has imported the paddle shifters from Thailand and can be seen on the source link below. Akin to the Honda City, the 2015 Jazz CVT will also feature steering mounted paddle shifters.

Powering the 2015 Honda Jazz will be a 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine which will come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission or the CVT. Also on offer will be the fuel efficient 1.5 liter i-DTEC turbo diesel motor which will be mated to a 5 speed manual box only.

The 2015 Honda Jazz will be the first hatchback in its segment to be equipped with paddle shifters in India. The other hatchbacks which feature paddle shifters are the Mercedes A-class, B-class, Mini Cooper models, BMW 1-Series etc, all of which are priced north of INR 25 lakh on road.

The 2015 Honda Jazz equipped with the CVT automatic transmission is likely to be priced about INR 1 lakh higher than the manual tranmission equipped model. Honda plans to employ heavy localization of the components for the Jazz and hence keep the price low. The 2015 Jazz is expected to be priced from INR 5 lakh in India and will be produced at one of Honda’s factories, either Tapukara in Rajasthan, or Greater Noida.
