New 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe India Launch Soon; CKD assembly commences

According to a report by Cartoq, Hyundai India has commenced the CKD assembly of the yet-to-be-launched new 2014 Santa Fe at their Chennai plant. The new 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe will be launching on February 6 at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The car was sold earlier via the CBU route in India.

With the CKD assembly of the 2014 Santa Fe, Hyundai India will be able to price the car competitively. The car has been spied testing in India many times. The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe is built on an entirely new platform and the car is larger than the car than the outgoing model. Speaking about the dimensions, the car is 40 mm longer and 5 mm wider, although the roofline is 45 mm lower. Wheelbase of the SUV remains the same at 2,700 mm.

Globally, the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe is available with two petrol engine options. These include a 2 liter turbo and a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated motor. The Indian model will come with a  2.2 liter diesel engine from the current model and will be equipped with a VGT (variable-geometry turbo). Power and torque figures for the engine remain unchanged at 194 bhp and 44.45 kgm respectively. But the engine has undergone minor upgrades with Piezo injectors for better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The engine will be mated to six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmissions, with the on-demand four-wheel-drive system available as standard.
The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe features the car maker’s Storm Edge design language. The Storm Edge design language is the new one from the Korean auto giant after the Fluidic designs. Speaking of  the interiors, the car will feature a very stylish dashboard design and rich materials can be found in plenty, and the car will come loaded to the brim with features.
