New 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to greet us at Auto Expo 2014

Thanks to this image here, which was posted by the manufactuter’s official Faceboook page, it has emerged that the new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 India debut will happen on February 5, on the media-day of fast approaching   Auto Expo 2014.

It may be noted that GM India is known to showcasing its high-performance cars at the Auto Expo 2014 and to the best of knowledge, the car maker has no plans of launching any of these in our country, at least not anytime soon. At Auto Expo 2012 too, the carmaker displayed the older Camaro SS and while there were plenty of rumors suggesting that the tasty looking car is on its way to our country, the carmaker never actually launched the famous muscle car in India. Instead, what we got were ‘rather mundane’ models such as the Sail and the Enjoy

The 2014 Camaro ZL1 is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that has a max power of 580 hp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 753 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Power is sent to rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The ZL1 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top whack of 296 km/h.
