Nissan India has finally launched the new 2013 Nissan Micra facelift in the highly competitive B segment of Indian car market.

The thoroughly updated Micra facelift comes with plenty of visual changes, additional equipment and new variants. The changes to the exterior have ensured that the Micra no longer has a “dolly car” appearance. The features list of the top of the line variant includes a  rearview camera, ABS, EBD with brake assist, 6-airbags, Bluetooth connectivity and Engine Start-Stop button among other features.

Talking more about the visual changes, the biggest update can be found in the car’s front fascia, which will now come with a new bumper, a really bold grille and a new set of stylish headlamps. The new bumper makes the car a wee bit longer than the outgoing model.

Other visual changes to the B segment contender include a set of ‘Signature Nissan’ alloys, revised motif for the rear taillamps with LED fixtures and a revised rear bumper.

The interiors too have been updated and the car gets a Piano black theme and new door pads.

Powering the updated 2013 Nissan Micra facelift is the same set of petrol and diesel motors that power the outgoing model. The petrol variant of the new 2013 Micra is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine that has a max power output of 76ps@ 6000rpm and a max torque of 104Nm@4000rpm.

The petrol variant gets a new CVT gearbox. This CVT ‘box has been derived from the one on the Sunny. This gearbox enables the car to deliver a slightly increased power output of 77ps. The CVT variant also endows the car with a fuel economy of 19.34 kmpl, which is slightly more than manual variant’s 18.44 kmpl.

The diesel variant of the car continues to be powered by the Renault sourced 1.5-litre K9K diese engine that has a max power of 64ps@4000 RPM and a peak torque output of 160nm@2000rpm.

The new Nissan Micra facelift has been laucnhed several variants across petrol and diesel models. Among these is a new Nissan Micra Active (more on it in the next article) variant that continues to sport styling elements of outgoing model but comes with a higher fuel economy of 19.49 kmpl.

Nissan says that while the 2013 Micra facelift would appeal to those looking for flair and features, the entry level Active variant would suit who want space and maximum bang for their buck.
