Morgan Plus 8 to debut at Geneva Motor Show

Morgan is one of the few out there who produce fast cars with retro appeal going for them. Now, the new Morgan Plus 8 will debut at Geneva Motor Show along with Aero Coupe and Electric Roadster.

The Plus 8 makes use of aircraft grade construction technologies and tips the scales at merely 1100 kg (2425 lbs). So, it is no surprise that the Plus 8 is the lightest V8 passenger car in the world. This is not all, Morgan also claims that the Plus 8 has one of the stiffest chassis of all convertible roadsters to kiss the tarmac.

Morgan likes to describe the Plus 8 as “a true drivers car.” We do not question the manufacturer’s claim as the car is equipped with a 4.8-liter V8 engine that produces as much as 390 bhp (291 kW) with a sports exhaust. 490 Nm of Torque appears good enough to tow a full fledged truck.

Morgan says that 62 mph (100 km/h) from standstill is dismissed in a quick 4.5 seconds and the car has a top whack of 155 mph (250 km/h). Standard features include a convertible mohair roof, air conditioning, leather upholstery, lockable stowage and radio/CD player.
