Mercedes could completely take over Aston Martin

We reported in detail when Aston Martin and Germany’s AMG signed an engine supply deal recently. A part of this deal was to handling over of five percent of Aston Martin’s assets to Mercedes Benz. While their new partnership is still in nascent stages, it is being said that Mercedes has already started planning to acquire a bigger share in Aston Martin. Some of these reports go on to state that the German car maker might even be looking to completely take over Aston Martin!

Autocar magazine has said that Mercedes boss Dieter Zetsche has hinted that his company might make a move to acquire Aston Martin completely. He said that he very much realizes that the famous British performance car brand could very use much more than just assistance with the engines. However, the top official refrained from completely accepting or denying if his company is planning to take over Aston Martin. Talking about Aston Martin, he just said it’s “a fantastic brand,” and that they are “willing to support its further development.”
